New Dock at Coupeville Wharf

Pacific NW boaters will be glad to know there's a brand new dock at the Port of Coupeville's Historic Wharf. Construction was completed last month by Carlson Construction after a severe wind storm damaged the old dock in December.

The old dock actually lasted a few years longer than anticipated. The new dock, which meets today's environmental regulations, is designed to withstand more severe weather. Similar to the previous wooden dock, there are bull rails the entire length with substantial dock cleats evenly spaced on the rails. The new dock, which cost about $600,000, should last 50-60 years.
