The Boat Geeks #50 - Nicholas Verrochi, MV Argonaut II
Nicholas started sailing at a young age in Worcester, MA, so boating is in his blood. He's now the caretaker of an iconic 104-year old Pacific NW vessel, MV Argonaut II.
Recorded aboard their floating studio in Port Townsend, WA, in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Daeron and Darren take a deep dive into the world of boating.
In this episode: Having followed Nicholas and MV Argonaut II on YouTube and Instagram for awhile, Daeron and Darren were somewhat familiar with the historic vessel's story. Not only did they learn about Nicholas' life around boating, they found so many fascinating details about the impactful life of Argonaut II. It's a story that Nicholas has devoted his life to telling, and sharing the boat - which is essentially a working museum - with as many people as possible. But it's stories of the descendants of people that were married or baptized aboard the boat back in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s reaching out to Nicholas that really drive home the boat's importance to the coastal waters of the Pacific NW.
